Soft Tacos

Soft tacos 

 

Ingredients:  

  • 1 tablespoon (15) oil 

  • ½ cup (125 ml) chopped onions 

  • ½ cup (125 ml) diced green pepper 

  • 1lb (500 g) ground beef 

  • 1 cup (250 ml) tomato diced 

  • ¼ cup (50 ml) water 

  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) taco seasoning mix  

 

Garnishes 

  • 4 tortilla shells  

  • Shredded lettuce 

  • Grated cheddar cheese  

  • Diced tomato 

  • Chopped green onion 

  • Sour cream  

  • Salsa  

 

Directions:

  1. Sauté chopped onions and green pepper in a frying pan on medium heat until soft, about 5 minutes. Add ground beef and break up.  

  1. Remove any grease from beef mixture. Mix taco seasoning mix with water and add tomato sauce. Simmer on low to medium heat until mixture begins to thicken (about 10 minutes).  

  1. While beef mixture is simmering, prepare all the garnishes and set aside on a plate. Remember to wash all vegetables well.  

  1. Once beef mixture is done, set up tortillas on a plate and spoon on beef mixture.
